Wonderful experience!. Best as ever! We've been eating in Mexi-Cocina for 30 years. We were through the four owners and everyone has kept the same big menu and recipes. We travelled with 43 countries every month, for 15 years. We tried Tex-Mex food in every state. We found four who came close to Mexi-Cocina, but nothing better. We have tried so many Tex Mexican restaurants here in San Diego and surroundings and do not compare again. The other Mexican restaurants in Poway were really disappointing. The food was over/understood and there was no taste what-so-ever! We loved Robert and missed him, he was a friend. We have now eaten in our restaurant under the new owner and not only the food as wonderful as before, there are new plans and ideas. Angie is really focused on keeping Mexi-Cocina the best. Angie created two new desserts. They now offer fried ice cream and absolutely wonderful cheesecake curros. You will not believe the wonderful Churros! The cheesecake filling is so smooth and creamy and the chur is sweet and super finished! If you miss this, you missed a lot. Make yourself a favor and come to Mexi-Cocina for great food and the super new desserts. Once you taste the food and get to know Angie, come back. We will make this restaurant safe for another 30 years! Thanks to Angie and Luiz for giving us and our visitors another pleasant experience.
They have a number of interesting dishes that you will not find in the typical Mexican restaurant. Beautiful aromas in a plate that is a step above the standard fare.
