Bay Tree Tea Room - Powys

This restaurant is fantastic for both its delicious food and inviting atmosphere. It is definitely worth a visit at any time of the day. We highly recommend it and will definitely be returning!

I have visited this restaurant multiple times throughout the year, but in my opinion, the service has declined. When I went to the bar to order, I was told to take a seat and that they would come to me. After waiting for 20 minutes, I decided to go to the bar and place my order. After another 15 minutes, I was told that what I had ordered was not available. Eventually, after waiting for a further 25 minutes, my order was served, despite someone who had ordered after me being served within 10 minutes. As far as I'm aware, there is no proper chef in this establishment. The owner seems to be more focused on their family than on the guests, with a "couldn't care less" attitude. It is unlikely that I will be eating here again. The restaurant is quaint, but it only has one unisex toilet, which can lead to a long wait at times. It is also difficult to maneuver wheelchairs, especially when it is less busy. Additionally, they are open for fewer hours in the evenings.

Haven't been for a couple of years but was sorely disappointed. Extremely over priced, Soup £9.95 Jacket potato £9.95. The Tapas was the only reasonably priced dishes, 3 for £12.95 which we opted for to be told there were no tapas dishes available. So we didn't have lunch there, just a cup of tea. Used the toilet before leaving the wall tiles, floor toilet cistern were very grubby so really quite glad we didn't eat here. I live locally with my own food business so was surprised to see standards have clearly slipped.

Lovely restaurant Amazing features that add the experience. Food was top class as was the Service. From the moment we enter till we left. We were met by very smiley and helpful staff behind the counter. And a Rather large selection of cakes. We were sat at a great table. And due to mother's dietary needs she asked lots of questions. All were answered very quickly and informed of anything she might need to know. A great place with a lovely atmosphere. Keep up the great work

Wow, wow, wow. What an amazing little find. When we walked in we were greeted by very friendly staff. It is a themed tea room and I was blown away, I sat in a fairground waltz for my lunch but I couldn’t stop taking in all the decor. There was an Alice in wonderland themed room, circus/the greatest showman themed room, fairground area, the toilet was amazing never spent so long in a toilet just looking at all the decor. Everywhere was so imaginative with lots of signs and an 80’s retro area. The food was amazing and every detail was well thought of. I had the loaded fries and you get a nice sized portion. The list of different teas and soft drinks was endless. I met the owner and passed on my gratitude and appreciation of the place. It was that nice we went back a couple of days later. Can’t recommend this little vintage tea shop enough. 10/10
