The location is interesting there's a cow pen behind the main dining area and it was fun watching the cows romp around when we were eating. And no, they...don't serve those cows for dinner. The service was impeccable, especially Jose and Rodrigo. I had read other reviews that spoke to the cost, I found it very reasonable. Just try finding a meal of that quality with entrees, wine and dessert for for in the US. I had the pork chop with mustard honey sauce one night, and the Alcantra beef in puff pastry the second time. Both were fantastic, with reasonable portions, and the Lava merlot was a perfect accompaniment. All four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals both times we went. We were in Terceira in and again this past August. We will be going back, and will definitely be going to again.
It’s hard to be such a bad rating but both hamburguer and octopus were quite bad cooked. Indeed, small parts of the octopus were not grilled but carbonized. I’m not giving a lower score since staff were very helpful and nice and they offered to...do a new hamburguer and they did not charge for it. Bruscheta were quite ok
My hotel was just across the street and I went there on a rainy day. Nobody else was there for lunch. The food was just ok. Nothing special and the restaurant serve industrial frozen, heated bread and prepacked butter. I had expected freshly baked bread...and butter with perhaps garlic or some spices. The service was good, but very impersonal. One of the two waiters was sick with a cold and coughed a lot behind the bar. In these times with the Coronavirus it is not pleasant to look at a sick waiter coughing into the air or in other places too?
Great food, friendly service and will definitely go back for another meal. There is nothing bad to say about my experience. Food and service exceeded expectations.
On our day long tour around the island with Gui Brugges of we stopped at for lunch. The staff was very friendly and helpful in selecting a meal that represented a local Azores specialty. I had fresh fish, with the head, tail and...bones, not my usual way to eat fish. It was delicious. We had the added pleasure of being seated in the back of the restaurant where we could watch young cows play in the pasture behind the restaurant. The wine was excellent. We ordered aside of bread which was not included. I thought this was unusual.
