I live now in presque isle, but when I visited here on holiday my sister and I would visit bonanza and we loved it every time! I am sad to see that it temporarily closed and understand why, but I hope it will open again for their next visit so that we can return together! the best buffet of all time!
Bonanza is a great experience to a good sitdown family restaurant. they always have a great deal of luck with the salad and eating. the personal was great to the service. space was clean. I remember getting Rib Eyes from here a long time ago. I never had a personal complaint about this restaurant ever. I would have given five stars, but I am not only due to the fact that I went with people here to see that they have problems with the preparation of steak (as well done or not cooked enough and sent back). this could happen in any restaurant, but besides the most picky carnivores who need to have their steak on a certain wise. good restaurant.
Prices are about what they expect to be for a restaurant. the service is ok. would have given more stars if the kartoffels were served hot. they were cold. The huh I ordered, tasted good. but was also on the cold side. must have been one night for the chefs or something. I was also not aware that I was able to decide from the salatable with my meal. there should be a sign or something that says that.
I had not been here in a while, few years at least. Sadly I would say I haven't missed much. The food is mediocre and the prices are way too high for what you get. $20 for a 7oz steak with one side, drink and salad bar not included. Other steak/grill houses have similar pricing but you get far better meal quality. However the salad bar is always full, and the hot bar is always a hit, as well as the classic soft serve ice cream station.
