The Old Black Bull - Preston

This restaurant is extremely disorganized! The staff is rude and overpowering. We came to this pub for a gathering and felt nothing but uncomfortable. The bar staff constantly stared at us, and the customers, while the bartender walked around seemingly talking about us. He was wearing a blue top with dark features. We felt very uncomfortable as they kept asking us for ID, saying we couldn't stay even when we asked for a soft drink. This is unacceptable behavior. I do not recommend this place and will not be returning.

The pub is known for its live music events, particularly blues music, and is adorned with music memorabilia, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. If you find yourself with some time to spare before your bus arrives, stopping in for a drink at The Old Black Bull is a much better option than waiting in the cold at the bus stop. Arthur Chappell.

Very very upset! I attended a family get together and when approached by two loud and drunken men, they commented on me and my girlfriends (I am a gay woman) outfits. All was fine and we handled it quite well when one of the men asked if we were girlfriends and said he didn’t believe us until we kissed to “prove it”. I quickly insisted that the men leave us alone and went to get a staff member. The manager that came out wasn’t interested and very bluntly told me that the two men were regulars and somewhat friends and therefore they didn’t want to lose them as customers and insisted that we just brush off what they said as a bit of banter and surely “it didn’t upset you that much”. The manager told us that they could have said a lot worse considering we are lesbians. I wouldn’t recommend this is a nice place, in my opinion. Food wasn’t great either and the beer didn’t taste nice. Do not go here!!!!

In my opinion, this restaurant is the best in Preston. The staff is great, the atmosphere is fantastic, and they offer a good selection of ales. They also have great live music on weekends (when relevant restrictions allow). It's a must-visit in my book.

We called in for drinks today, my husband used the track and trace app to scan us in and we used the hand sanitiser provided. There was no-one at the door so we found a table and sat down. A member of staff (female)came over and asked us to sign in on a clipboard but my husband informed her we had scanned in on the app. 'Show me 'she said in very abrupt and rude manner then insisted we sign in anyway.She spoke to us like we were a couple of schoolkids. We decided to leave and take our custom elsewhere. Her attitude and the way she spoke to us was really unprofessional, she needs some customer service training. We won 't be visiting again in a hurry. As a footnote, the next couple of pubs we visited had pleasant staff on the door and we scanned in without any problem and without the third degree interrogation.
