Had a nice quick breakfast at Mads before going into the city. Friendly service. Food was good. Hot coffee with frequent refills. Lots of choices for breakfast. Impressed with this place.
My wife and I passing through and stopped for gas at this truck stop. We saw the Acorn and stopped in for lunch. Great looking diner with two very attentive staff. We were seated right away and got our orders in. The return time for the food was literally five minutes. Obviously they have someone in the back that knows what they're doing. It was the fastest homemade food we have ever had. The food was real turkey and mashed potatoes. Bathrooms were spotless. You can hear locals talking in Acadian French at the counter. Glad to be back in Atlantic Canada. Great place to have lunch and stop.
I was pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. It was our first time dining here. We were travelling from Houlton, Maine to Saint John, New Brunswick. It was a perfect autumn day with the foliage at its peak. I will remember to stop at this restaurant should I travel this route again. This restaurant maybe confused with another one by the name Acorn. The restaurant I write about is soon after Woodstock area; we found it on our drive from Houlton, Maine in our return trip home to Saint John area.
We stopped for a quick shower and dinner. My husband is a truck driver, so it was a good place to freshen up and grab a meal or some snacks. The selection was great for both eating in and taking out.
