I ordered the salmon. it was boiled decently, but it was placed on pasta sauce and roasted green beans. eating is okay, I think it could be much better at the price point they ask.
Food was ok. The highlight was the fries, hot and the right amount of salt. The rest was just ok. And if rating food alone I would give it solid 3. BUT, the service was very poor. I watched them remove dirty silverware and napkins and lead me right to the same table. I had to ask to have it wiped off. I waited for a setup. Food took forever. Fries were hot, main was warm. I watched as others around me suffered as well. It was busy, so I wanted to give them a break but as a restaurant in a hotel CONNECTED to the convention center, they need to be better.
This is the first time I've went to a fancy upperish class restaurant I had received a Groupon and I had $50 to spend with it. I ordered the clam chowder, clam cakes, and a lobster roll. Clam Chowder $10 for a small bowl. Not the best I've had, it was okay. Would like to see this priced around $6-$8 like most other places. Clam Cakes $16 for a small clam cake and a few tomatoes. Nothing to write home about. You can get the same quality at most other restaurants for half the price or less. Lobster Roll $24. Was a regular sized plain white roll with chunks of lobster, sliced tomatoes, and lettuce. Very plain, felt like I was eating water. Absolutely no seasoning. Same can be said for the sweet potato fries it came with. Tasted like you were biting into a sweet potato you just made without adding anything to it. Long story short, overpriced and plain food. You can find identical stuff literally anywhere else and for cheaper.
The appetizers were okay, but the entrées were almost inedible. The rigatoni bolognese was watery with clearly previously frozen meat and a sawdust-like consistency, and the sausage pizza--well, I'm would have been happier with a supermarket frozen pizza because I could eat that. The pizza used some kind of undercooked roux for a sauce, and the crust was stale and overcooked. In addition, despite our polite complaints, our meek server did not try rectify any of the problems.
This restaurant did not seem right when we entered, and everything was off. The food had no flavor. 1) The sausage pizza was not edible, like the crust had been pre-cooked then heated up and the white sauce was literally like flour paste; the olive oil for dipping bread was actually bitter or rancid, inedible; 3) the bolognese sauce was inedible, as of the meat had been made, frozen, reheated numerous times, and no flavor. It took 20 minutes to get bread and our appetizers came out after over 30 minutes. Our waitress knew we were unhappy and avoided us instead of addressing or offering to accommodate in any way. We left all our food on the table, which NEVER HAPPENS! My husband will eat almost anything and cannot stand to waste. This was inedible and i was sad about it because I had actually tried to find a great place and made the reservations ahead of time.
