Spike's Junkyard Dogs - Providence

How is it, that I've passed this place over a dozen times since moving here a year ago and never stopped in until now? I was craving a hot dog and my first stop was a gas station on Mineral Spring but they were fresh out. A friend of mine told me to go to 7- eleven and that's when I saw Spike's. I did a u-turn at the 7-eleven and went into Spike's. Oh my goodness, no one told me about the various options for a hot dog. I was a bit overwhelmed but in a good way. The staff was very pleasant and patient with my indecisive behind. I like that they make it as soon as you order it so that you are getting FRESH food. It was !!! The curly fries were nice and crispy and not drenched in oil like a lot of other places. I ordered the patriot dog, which comes with bacon, cheddar cheese and Spike's mustard. My first time trying it and I loved it. There are other hot dog variations that they have there that I want to come back and try. They will be seeing me again, sooner rather than later. If you don't like hot dogs don't worry, they also have wings, pizza and chicken sandwiches that looked good too. They also offer vegetarian hot dogs for no additional cost!!!! I think that's awesome. First experience there, had the Weenie Dog. Dog Skin was so tough I couldn't pull it apart with my fingers. Lack of COVID19 business or not, you can't keep overcooked food to save a profit. Otherwise, the bread and fillings were excellent.

Have a great New York system style but made with a higher quality hot dog. Would give 5 stars but you have to ask for your curly fries to be well done otherwise they're way light.

Spikes has some fantastic hotdogs with really great combos like the pizza dog! Their curly fries are so damn good as well. Fair prices totally work getting 2 dogs or more!

I love hotdogs, and I love dressed up dogs even more! Great little spot to satiate my carnivorous cravings, and they have curly fries! Texas Ranger is one of my favorite dogs there. There is something for everyone on the menu.
