Be aware though if you book a reservation here they charge a $50 cancellation fee for each person that doesn't show up. That's what I was told when I booked the rez, not sure if they enforce that or not. I thought it was odd that they told me the only time they had for dinner was 8pm but then I got a text at 7:15 that our table was ready. It would have been nice to have eaten earlier if it was available... Oh well, we still had a good time. We were there on a Friday night on labor day weekend and it was super quiet and not a lot of people there.... Which I am ok with...the fewer people the better in my opinion. Good for light food and a great bartender before 5:00 pm. Beautiful location and lovely music.

Very cute open air restaurant/bar at the Maunakea hotel the vibes were romantic and relaxed. It’s a great spot to catch the sunset views, and grab a few cocktails before dinner. They have live music playing along with a hula dancer. Even with the music, the vibe is still very calm and relaxed, and you can continue to have a conversation. When the live music isn’t playing, you also hear the sounds of waves crashing on the beach. The food is so so, but the ambience and location make up for it.
