Subuya's Moto - Hotel Subuya

This place has been closed for almost a year now. But while it was here, the food was amazingly delicious, especially the momos. Chef was great too.

Japanese restaurant is closed.. kindly call the hotel and confirm.i tried calling the whole day.. finally evening they responded and said they don't serve Japanese any more..

Good place to stay. Affordable and rooms are clean. Great room service. The food is also good. Close to the rocky beach which makes it a great location

A very nice surprise hidden in Pondy! I least expected a Japanese restaurant, let alone one with a Japanese chef here. You have to ask specifically for the Japanese menu. Everything is very economically priced. Mains are around 250. The yakitori is excellent. Tempura is good, but I've had crisper tempura. The ramen is amazing; you can taste the seaweed as well. All the Japanese ingredients are fresh and authentic. The Japanese chef cooks the food in an open kitchen. It's a shame that this restaurant isn't mentioned properly on Zomato. There hasn't been much promotion of this place either. Overall, I'd strongly recommend a visit. It's a pleasant break from the French and continental food available elsewhere in town.

Such great food, in a place like Pondicherry, where Asian dishes are really rare. The Japanese Chef cooks in a corner and most people who comes to the restaurant mostly order dishes other than Japanese. It is such a shame to see a good cook just sitting because no one is ordering his food.
