Feedback gevenBig lees grill was fantastic. we stopped here while we stayed in Dominican on vacation and I was not disappointed! the food was delicious and fresh, the workers and owners were wonderful and very welcoming. it is a beautiful place right on the beach so we could enjoy a great view with our meal. in any case they recommend it to everyone, they must pass and check it out!
We stopped today to see what this was about. I had the burger (big and my partner had the fish and chips (outstanding! . the pommes were fantastic, and everything was great help. when we were involved (and I licked the plate. I think the tartaric acid sauce is homemade? this guy approaches us and says he is big lee. he doesn’t look like a “Big Lee” (I thought there was a rule that you need to be well over 300 pounds to be called a “big thing” and this guy isn’t close to it? Maybe 225 lbs. “Big Lee” apologizes and says he has lost a lot of weight. we're just talking for an hour. super nice guy whoever he was. we will definitely come back.
We enjoyed meeting big lee at his bar. he shared his experience with us about living in the Dominican Republic when we ate his delicious food. his delicious fish and chips and tweeper rings were from this world. the fish and chips are crispy outside, hot inside and tender! the potato is freshly cut. there is no surprise why its restaurant is the top rated restaurant and beach club in puerto plata. many thanks for everything big lee, hope they will see again soon! dan aus vagabond wax (youtube channel) qiang by hobbys
We found this gem through Google reviews while we are looking for a place to lunch. we were least disappointed. we begin with the warm welcome we entered. so beautiful and friendly. we were down and ordered 2 presidente beer and each portion fish and chips. here the dinge becomes wild. the food is only prepared as it is ordered. no frozen or prepared eating. fresh from sea to table. I have never fished in all my life that melted in your mouth as I did here. the crispy teig held all tasteful juices inside. the pommes were freshly cut and ordered as the fish was. I couldn't finish all my food, but trust me, I ate all my fish. the tartaric acid sauce is also made in the house and for dying. I could eat it with everything! next time, they make sure they're over for a bite. the owner came when we began our meal to thank us for this and we spoke more after the meal. what a wonderful man with an amazing story of his life from the united states to move and open his own beach bar restaurant. really an inspiration. I promise they won't be disappointed. I'm just sad because I found this place on my last day and I want to try others dinge from his menu. I heard about Big Lees through a friend from the next city over. It was hands down the best experience by all counts I have had for food since I’ve been here in the DR! The atmosphere is set perfectly with a beachside bar, shaded by the trees surrounding and with gorgeous view of the ocean. I was greeted immediately by one of the friendly servers. To my surprise, Big Lee himself was not only there, but he took the time to introduce himself and his restaurant to me! On to the food. Lee made a personal guarantee that his fish and chips would beat out any that I’ve had beforehand. A very bold claim since I have had fish and chips from many different regions and places. He was right. From the hand cut freshly made home fries, to the secret recipe beer battered sea bass, and not forgetting the homemade tarter sauce, I can honestly say without a doubt this was the BEST fish and chips I’ve ever tasted! I will definitely be stopping back soon. If you are in puerto plata I highly recommend stopping by here. You will love it!
