What a treat in Puerto Princesca. Loved this restaurant. Lots of locals dining in. Service was warm and welcoming. We tried a couple dishes and the squid- all were very tasty and the interior was stunning. Would highly recommend- especially for tourists to enjoy some delicious Filipino food!
I have watched this place since they construction for the new road and now the New Ka Joel. Finally visited with the wife we enjoyed. Beware you need reservations because they do lots of Tour Groups and 2 Giant CHERRY Busses pulled in as we were leaving. We were there at 11 am their opening time and they found us a table for 2. No real explanation by the staff of the food. By accident I asked what was in the very glass jars with pouring spouts and was informed they sold Honey by the shot glass so I had one and it was very good. They also make their own vinegar very fragrant. We ordered the salmon sashimi which came with pineapple and latok, a delicious seaweed. I had the Fresh Lumpia it was warm and came with 2 sauces one was a nut sauce the other had no flavor it was black so I thought it was supposed to be soy sauce with a thickner like corn starch. My wife enjoyed a glass of red wine and I had a Pilsen. No Ceviche. No Fish Sinigang. Many vans lined up with tour groups. We watched groups come in and all be fed the same meal.
One thing you can be sure of, this place offers you more than what you expect. Limitless choices of Filipino food cooked in perfection. Be in Palawan, Just be here.
I”ve been to Ka Joel”s numerous times with a group of friends as well as just a couple. And have never been disappointed. The venue is absolutely stunning! The Wood working and art work thru out the resto are fabulous. The food is also very good! I would suggest the Salmon Steak, Fresh Lumpia n Ribs. A must resto to eat when in Puerto!
