Ordered beef stew noodle. Their chao long bowl is larger than the other ones I've tried, but the broth isn't as tasty.
Tried my first-ever chaolong here and no regrets. Indeed tastes like pho and the french bread is bulky too. Very affordable price. I’d definitely visit again once I return to PPS
To know why the Vietnamese pho is known as chaolong is a different story. Just go to Thalia's for a piping hot bowl of chaolong. Yum! For Lasallians, there is a portrait of St. John Baptiste de La Salle displayed here.
Thalias is the most authentic Pho in Puerto Princesa. It is my favorite chaolong since childhood. Although recently the amount of rice noodle is lesser and the waiting got longer especially during dinner time (6-8pm). Still in terms of authenticity this the best pho. If you ask the people in Buncag or malvar area, this chaolong house has a lot of of memories. Since my college days on 2004 the taste of this chaolong house doesn't change really. I remember around year 2000 the establishment is still a grocery store called Kentroy. I didn't remember when it became Thalia's Chaolong. Its the best thing that happened as we experience this authentic Vietnamese noodle with a Palaweño twist. If you are a tourist going to Palawan you need or its a must to try Thalias Chaolong. Not only here but also try the different chaolong houses that you can see that pop up evewhere in Puerto and Palawan as it only differs from the taste. The uniqueness of Palawan is in our diversity and the addition of Vietnamese culture makes it more interesting. The food especially because as they say the best way to experience the local culture is to taste what they eat. And chaolong is the best example because its a fusion of culture and it makes Palawaño unique.
