Enjoyed a fresh fish platter which was very tasty. It was wonderul to sit outside & enjoy my meal and cervesa. I wish that the paella was available for one person. If I was other people I'm sure that we would try the paella. Next time I am in PV I will definately return to this restaurant.
Not far from Malecon, this is the place if you want to stuff your bellies...they serve so much that you can take your family of 8, you still going to be OK! Seriously, esta está muy rico, que toda la familia contiene 8 personas va a tener fiesta! Margarita is a must to order there! Chicken, shrimps, even paella! Got it?
Walking from the South end of the malecón on Nov 2nd this year; admiring all the displays for the day of the death, we ended up in this little restaurant...with no intentions to eat that late we stopped for a drink...I asked for two traditional "margaritas de limón". Our first time there, it is a small restaurant with green motives, the tiles on the floor very smartly installed alternating 1 square foot white tiles with 4 inches green little tiles going in an angle. The tablecloths perfectly complemented the tile work...we could not believe our eyes when we saw our very tall margaritas made in a blender! Perfectly smooth and just delicious! The server came to talk to us and thanked us for stopping by. He gave us some food suggestions for our next visit and after those magnificent margaritas we pretty much planned a return trip and try their paella. About a week later we came back. The plate was enough for the Canadian Army I joked! It had chicken, pork, sea food, some veggies and the rice color, consistency and flavour was perfect. Those shrimps were top quality. Shrimp in Mexico is called prawns in Canada ( first time I had " shrimp" in Canada I felt sad to eat baby shrimps :-) Our plans did not allow us to go back to enjoy their fantastic food again, but we managed to go back for a few more margaritas. Now that we know about this little Jewell, super easy to find and combine with a walk in the malecón, we have it on our list of places we must visit when we go back to Puerto Vallarta. It is located on the North East corner of Francisco Medina Ascencio ( this is the main Hotels Street and towards downtown it is becomes South bound, in maps it shows as highway 200 to Tepic) and calle Venezuela, right across from Plaza Hidalgo. Walking from el malecón, you will notice it finished and you are now walking in regular streets, keep on going, don't make any turns, you will end up right there.
If you want to taste great traditional Mexican food, visit this place. We ordered frozen margaritas (really well prepared), seafood cocktail, guacamole and ceviche. All of the the dishes were delicious. They also have paella and lobster... we will try that next time. Ah and they have a parrot outside, called Loro.. ask the owner for a picture with him.
