We enjoy the ambiance and the staff who are always very welcoming and super friendly, it’s just like you’ve come home. A few of our favorite...dishes are the peanut soup, Chilis en Nogada, Chilis Rellenos, Chilis de Picadillo. Everything we have had are delicious with complex flavors and typically light on spice as everyone knows, traditionally Mexican cuisine is NOT spicy but possess more developed flavors. Red Cabbage always knocks it out of the park for us and they make a damn good margarita too! You need to grab an Uber and have dinner at the Red Cabbage we think you’ll agree with us and it’ll be on your list for every visit, just like us. You might even see Lola as we did! She’s such a sweet lady. Coco we think you’re the best!!
We were guests of a seasonal Resident of Puerto Vallarta who has spent her Mexican Summers in this Holiday Destination for many years...and she wanted to show us her favourite restaurant...The Red Cabbage Café. Located just outside the hustle and bustle of Downtown Puerto Vallarta, the Red Cabbage offers Classical Mexican Cuisine in a beautifully decorated rooms with walls covered in tasteful artwork. We started our meal with an entrée of "Spinach Salad" consisting of cold cooked spinach in a savoury dressing. A different but quite delicious taste, I selected "Pork Ribs" served with rice and beans as my main, and my wife chose "Fish Carina" with garlic butter. Both dishes were beautifully presented and thoroughly enjoyed The restaurant promises you will have a memorable dining experience, and we certainly agree with that claim. Staff were extremely friendly and we were even invited to the kitchen to meet the team that put it all together in the background. Only available for Dinners and closed on Sundays. A must visit if you are visiting Puerto Vallarta.
We fell in love with the red cabbage cafe years and we again and again. the best service and consistently delicious eating along with some delicious margaritas make this one of our favorite dining experiences. it has this charm over the interieur that is so inviting. the personal is amazing! super friendly, attentive and will do whatever it takes to have a wonderful culinary experience over and over again. authenticity is here the keyword. authentic dishes. when we had a holiday in Puerto vallarta, we had to come at least twice in the week. . now, where we live closer, about an hour and half a north) we try to come more often. in the regular they close in the next season juni to oktober, as many restaurants are so aware of this.
Always wanted to try this place. I saw Raving reviews. a couple of weeks tried. it is very beautifully decorated. the server seemed to be frosty first, but warmed up a bit when the evening passed. I ordered the pig dog. it was good, but only with two items on the teller. three or four small pieces of the pork and kartoffel. I was probably finished in four minutes, tasted, but could afford to put something else on the plate. the main reason why I would never return is the noise level. it was almost unbearable. that's the end result that 25 people...only guess....to eat in a phone booth. it is not pleasant at all. if they are not about a high noise level, it is probably good for them. I like to have a talk at our table, but it was difficult to do this.
Disappointed. very bland aromen with my chiles de picadillo and the dish seemed very texturless and cooked over. had much better filled green paprika for lower price otherwise where in mexiko. Friday night and only 3 more couples. there was only one more couple when we were gone. we had dessert somewhere else and saved our last night in mexico from a total disappointment.
