Fantastic bar, service and food. Due to being on a business trip on the mainland, I was a party of one at the bar for lunch. No problem, a nice lady took my order then stuck around to chat. I appreciated the conversation, the beer was cold and then the food came out. Wow! Cajun Mac-n-cheese was outstanding. The noon crowd was older, like me, with day drinkers dancing to the oldies tunes. It was festive but not raucous, just people having a good time. One of these days I intend to bring my wife to South Bass Island and I know right were to take her for a good meal...The Boathouse!

Came twice in the course of our weekend to dinner and drinks here. bar is large, live music, comfortable and spacious area for socialization. the prices are not bad at all on drinks and the entire atmosphere is in the regular upbeat and exciting, especially when the later grows. the personal is pleasant, as the drawn to the boathouse. always funny mass. very clean. Unfortunately, it's just not good to eat. we had a group of seven and that was the consens of the whole group. most got the burger, the least liked. dryburger, hard rolls. steak and offers were simply in order. the pommes were fantastic and we were all agreed on it, but good pommes could not dissatisfie any whole party with food quality, especially as our first choice of dinner in the bay. Moreover, the time to serve was wildly slow and it was not busy at all. that would have been less a problem if that was waiting for something of quality, but it was simply not. we would drink and hang out after hours or see live music, but we would probably choose elsewhere for our food options in the future.

So it was cool and a bit dark in here, which was not a problem, but with the additional depressing live musician, it killed our funny party vibe! the live musician literally played every song depressing and sober, and then at one point mentioned the next song was for his friend who was self-morning. simply not the funny put-in bay vibe at all! our service was good, although the prices are high, to expect on the island. not splitting checks are also quite antique as we all know that every modern POS system makes this very easy. gratuity is added automatically for groups (expected), but there is also a resort FEE tax that I had never seen before, and has not occurred anywhere else. they quickly sat our big group, and the service was good as I said. 2 of our Terriyaki bullets had super baked rice. otherwise we enjoyed our food. garnel and vegetables were very delicious.

Eat was good, maybe I should have got the fish. overall it was not as good as I remembered. they wait, the personal was sassy, but again, in view of the amount of bar-hoppers, perhaps this is to be expected. it was cute, but she was sassy the whole visit. I love the open concept although and obvious history of the restaurant! would eat another!
