Elizabeth's Farmhouse - Putnam

This restaurant has a cozy, rustic farmhouse vibe inside with a small dining area and small bar. Service was a little slow to start but I think there may have only been one server for the whole inside dining room and our reservation was right at 6p. We started with a great bowl of clam chowder and a “stuffy”, which was a new dish for us that we enjoyed trying. We both had salmon for dinner one plate entree style with mashed potatoes and green beans, and the other with a grilled Caesar salad. It was a little disappointing to see every entree with the same side dishes of mashed potatoes and green beans. We also saw photos online of a sandwich/burger section that must’ve only been on the lunch menu, because there weren’t any on our dinner menus. There is no printed dessert menu, but our server described nearly ten options, which outnumbered the amount of entree selections. Our meal was good overall but not awesome, especially for the relatively high price point.

What a gem! Delicious food. Stuffys were very good. Definitely worth a stop. We had lunch. Homemade ketchup for the fries!

Best bartender! She stays so busy and always makes me an excellent zero proof for whatever special!

Like stepping into a time machine .... very intimate, lovely experience!

We have always loved the food at Elizabeth’s. The atmosphere is also very pleasant. I am still recommending but we had one unpleasant episode. We went there on Friday night with reservations for 4 o’clock. Granted we were 10 minutes late so the hostess reiterated that we had to be out of there by 6 because they do 2 hour seatings. We fully realized this and were told this when the reservation was made. My daughter, son-in-law and their 2 young sons arrived before us and the hostess laid into my daughter about how we had to be out of there by 6. And she said to my daughter “I didn’t know there would be children here!” and was very upset by that. She said the high chair was out of commission whatever that means. Nonetheless, a waitress brought over a high chair. We left well within the 2 hours at 5:23. My daughter even cleaned the floor and the high chair since the baby is only 9 months old and is not very neat yet. The waitresses were all very nice but beware of the hostess if you bring children. My daughter and family will not be back.
