I had a really enjoyable experience at this Thai restaurant in Putney, which offers great food at very reasonable prices. The portions are generous, and our meals arrived promptly. The spring roll was particularly unique, as it contained glass noodles, something I haven't encountered at other Thai places. The pad see ew and green curry were both delicious—spicy and full of flavor. The beef in the noodles was incredibly tender. Overall, it was a fantastic meal.
The food, service, and atmosphere at this restaurant are all excellent. I had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend it.
Out in the 'burbs, most little shopping strips once boasted a chook shop and an Aussie-Cantonese for lazy midweek dinners. These days they 're just as likely to have a Thai restaurant. For Putney, a quiet suburb that sits between Gladesville and Ryde, the local fallback is We Thai Cuisine. Seating just 30-35 people there are some outside tables on the edge of a car park that would probably be nice in summer) this little family-run business has looked after the needs of local families for a number of years. It 's BYO, though the small shopping strip 's bottle shop has since bitten the dust, so you 'd be best to plan ahead. We 're not so forward-thinking, so end up drinking mugs of Ginger Beer $4.50) on the...
We headed out to We Thai on a saturday for lunch. It was a trek for us after we have decided to go car less! The restaurant is located near the corner of the main street, there is a car park next to the joint but it is a little bit tucked away.<br/ <br/ We ordered 2 drinks, young coconut drink and thai milk tea, thai milk tea is traditionally sweet, my partner and i loved it.<br/ <br/ Entree was skipped cos... we didnt want to waste food, even though we were invited.<br/ <br/ We ordered their pineapple prawn fried rice it came in half a pineapple and the prawns were generous!!! This is a MUST HAVE.<br/ <br/ Mixed seafood panang curry was good, serving was decent with a good mixture of veggies and seafood. The curry sauce was quite thin but tasty.<br/ <br/ Cashew nut tofu stir fry was our other main. Be aware that this dish is quite sweet to suit the western palette. Neither of us have been to thailand and i think we are accustomed to sweeter s.e. asian dishes...<br/ <br/ We were so full after the 3 items!! At first i thought the serving was ok... but towards the end we were both struggling to finish but alas we did and were very satisfied with the food. I can attest that the food we had were very fresh, it was prawns galore! Can totally understand the other reviews stating that the dishes were too sweet.. and they were sweet. So if this is not your thing, give We Thai a miss. If you dont mind it like us give them a go.<br/ <br/ We thai is between a 3.5 4/5 but since the only criticism we had was the sweetness of the dish (which we didnt mind), 4 seems like a fair score. Overall, we enjoyed the food, if we lived locally we would go back.<br/ <br/ *we were kindly invited
