British Bites - Puyallup

Food was okay, different from what I am accustom to so that probably has something to do with it. (Grew up in England) Service was great, but pricey IMO.Parking: Very few spots up front with competition so you may want to look around.

Had lunch there recently. Been going here for a few years and sadly the magic is gone. The scones have gotten smaller while the prices keep going up $3.50 for a tiny scone and $2.50 for about a teaspoon of jam clotted cream). For comparison, these scones are probably half the size of every scone I had in England. They used to serve delicious loose leaf tea and now just a regular tea bag $5.50). Very disappointed because we used to love going there. Not really worth the trip from Tacoma now. Overall, for a very simple lunch I spent $28 for one person! including tip). I really wish they could do better, I am going to miss this place.

Tried the afternoon tea for a girls get together lunch. While I had responded via email to resturant about date I wanted to make reservation. After multiple attempts to set date and time via email I gave up and called to figure out what was happening. I was able to reserve a spot. The next day (day of reservation) I received a call from someone at the restaurant indicating they had gotten my messages via email but didn't know which location I wanted to go to. Keep in mind the website says NOTHING about another location. So I was very confused until doing some googling and found out there us two location one in Puyallup and another in Chehalis but only comes up if you Google it as Chehalis British Bites.Anyways, day of we get to resturant/bistro/market and we're excited about our adventure and we're hoping to see some great items in the market. The shelves were bar except for a few pre-packaged cookies and candies and perhaps an odd pillow here or there. The decor is minimal British, it's more Harry Potter than anything. The tea was good, the sandwiches and sweets were good, but $29.00/person worth it, I am not so sure about that. The waitress seems over worked since she was the only person we ever saw there and ran the checkin/checkout and food service plus bussing. It had gotten busy at one point and I felt sorry for her running in every which direction. If you are looking for just tea and bistro lunch I think this would be a great place to go, however for that special experience of afternoon tea with the ladies or gents I would pass on it and look for another place that offers a more authentic atmosphere to make it feel special.

Minimal staffing so come with a plan to slow down and relax. Afternoon tea requires a 24hour advance reservation, but there is a decent menu for walk-ins to take out or sit down. I came to buy shareable goodies from the shop section for our school’s Multicultural Fair, but I also wanted my family to experience some lunch items we don’t normally eat. The ham cheese sandwich is made with chutney as the pickle and only one of us appreciated that. The Ploughman pasty with ham, cheese, onion in a flaky hand pie was filling and delicious. The Cherry Bakewell Tart was a lovely little treat! I had a small pot of Irish Eyes tea which is a green tea but blended so it is a pleasant hint of bergamot, chocolate essence and not a bit grassy. Equally entertaining as our lunch and shopping was the themed tea at a nearby table, not that we would ever eavesdrop. :
