Great everything. My family is visiting put of town and we were recommended this place. We were here the Monday before 4th of July, so it wasn’t super busy. Food was made and ready in less than 10 minutes and it was delicious. Perfect amount for all four of us.Food: 5/5
We were searching for lunch in downtown Puyallup and stumbled across Fat Zach’s. Really loved the pizza and the service was outstanding.Food: 5/5
The pizza here is fantastic! I tried the Outlaw and the cheese bread, and both were absolutely delicious. However, their approach to handling issues was less than ideal. The ice machine for the soda was out of order, and instead of having a server manage the drinks, they set up a communal ice bucket with a tin cup. Customers were expected to dig into the ice with their hands and scoop their own ice. Upon our request, they swapped our three self-serve drinks for a 2-liter bottle of soda, which was a much better solution. The community ice bucket concept definitely needs improvement; I’m sure the health department would agree. Apart from that, we had a positive experience. The indoor and outdoor dining atmosphere was lovely, and they played classic rock music at a perfect volume. We will definitely come back!
Some nights, everything is quick and perfect—truly amazing. But then there are times like last night, when we ordered two Jetts pizzas and some cheese bread. The difference between the two pizzas was astonishing. They looked like they came from two entirely different restaurants! One was so thin that you could see through it when I held it up to the light, while the other was more substantial. It felt like they were upset with me, honestly. When I went back to the counter, I noticed that no two pizzas were being made the same way. The oven—a place I usually see cleaned regularly—had leftover burnt bits from previous orders. The younger guy with a flat bill cap was trying to manage, but he was clearly struggling. I saw him place fresh pizzas right onto smoldering charred bits, and after waiting for about five or six minutes at the to-go counter without help, I decided to grab a to-go box for my unfortunate pizza. When I got back to my table and checked under my pizza, I found more burnt bits. That must have been why it tasted off—burnt toppings from the oven. I didn't bother asking for a refund; I knew if we waited for a redo, we’d miss our movie. We ended up eating most of it, but it was such a disappointment considering how good they can be on other occasions. Overall, Fat Zach's is worth a visit for the price, as they have a solid recipe and good food. Just be sure to peek behind the counter and into the oven. If you see burnt bits and young staff working, it might be best to go elsewhere. If you spot the nice blonde lady or the bearded gentleman working, you should be in for a treat. I'll return, but only if there's at least one responsible adult on duty.
