The food and selection of wines is great. The setting and atmosphere is first class. The staff were attentive and friendly. Would love to return in future.
My last review was not favourable so after a revisit I feel the need to review once again. This time I could not speak more highly of the personal service we received from Antonio. We were a party of 3 wanted to experience their...share menu. I really appreciate that they are offering a very creative vegetarian menu with very fresh produce. The carrots themselves are worth a visit baked, soaked in orange juice, baked again then charred served with a yoghurt . They were superb so sweet. The potato cake with curry sauce was also very interesting. My fellow diners enjoyed the special pasta dish which was of a biscuit consistency. Antonio selected a Pinot Noir which was excellent we chose a bottle of Barossa shiraz which was also very good. We came away feeling we had had a very special night.
Historic, cosy, atmospheric are all words to describe the space. The wooden beams pulley systems connected to the lamps reminded us that this used to be a woolshed. Unfortunately, on our first visit miscommunication was happening. We had a booking so we were shown...to our table with very small, uncomfortable chairs. A waiter then proceded to pour 2 glasses of Moet. We were a bit confused. So were they when we asked about the drinks. Weren 't we there for the Valentine Day deal. I had not clicked on this option when I booked online. We were asked to move to some couches (which were far more comfortable) so the lovebirds could have the table for dining but we could keep the complimentary Moet. When we ordered our quart of pinot noir the 2 glasses appeared after quite a bit of time but I had to go up to the staff to ask for the wine as it was 20 minutes after requesting. It was as though we had been forgotten after we moved. The waitress apologised stating that her the bar person had a 'miscommunication '. The wine was very smooth a better way to order as we had 2 glasses for $23. We are new locals so we are trying to put a list together of bars to go to to take visitors. We would give this establishment another visit but we hope the service would be a lot better.
Brilliant bar. beautiful barman who was happy with us, although it was time to close. excellent whisky and old-fashioned
