Although the markets themselves do not leave much to be desired, the pushing and shoving of tourists and seagulls is tottaly worth it when you come down to th end of the arcade. Gorgeous to look at, amazing display and eevery niche product you can think of. and the cheese?? WOW it's the best election i have seen acrosss Sydney. They scored a few award with their cheeses and there is a young cheese guru girl there who knows just about everthing cheese related! I also picked up abaout every single obscure ingredient i have been looking for. As for price, yeah they are a few bucks more...read more
Smells like fish ... Tastes like good coffee. I try to avoid the fish market the best of times. Overrun with hoards of tourists chowing down on platters of deep-fried chips soggy cooked seafood sitting under heat lights. Amongst the madness is this deli offering price-inflated goodies from many parts of the world. Decent selection of cheeses smallgoods and a few tables to sit and relax and enjoy a well-made Toby's Estate coffee before or after you squeeze your way in to grab your fresh seafood at the neighbouring vendors.
If most fish market calls only in these days, they would expect blackwattle is a tear-off place for fish businessmen who need some delicacies, but it actually has an impressive selection of good cheese, meat, olive and many others, all at quite standard prices. I have not tried the sandwiches (hopefully the brot does not come from the terrible bakery next door), but as deli it is really good.
We are trying to get to the fish market early, and to the breakfast time, I really don't feel like floating in the fish and chips. blackwattle deli is therefore the only choice. good that they are good.! They have a small selection of baked, but we go in the rule for their breakfast special of a coffee (I thought the latte art was rather whimsical) and a roasted sandwich (I think it was $10 for both.) this time we got one with kimgyu melted and smoked it was a little bit but also crispy and delicious. it also had provolone cheese and Japanese mayo. yum.
Excellent coffee and super tasty meals in the café section of deli. also great selection of healthy deli foods, especially like those (probiotic rich foods), recommended by web pages of dr. axe and dr. mercola and dr. gundry in the internet. so happy I found this combo deli caffe. service was phenomenal, although they were super busy, well done bkackwattle.
