I recently had lunch with a colleague at the Persian Room and really enjoyed it. My food was lovely, the staff were friendly and welcoming, the decor was beautiful and the location was stunning- overlooking the water. The rosewater on the table was a nice touch.I look forward to eating here again!
We went here pre theatre. The owner was so friendly recommending all of the good food. The special of lamb neck and was amazing. The lamb was so juicy and flavoursome. We had more food that we could eat and it was super value. Would highly recommend for a group of friendsI am on a really strict diet (gf df nf) and there was plenty of choice .
Tuesday evenings are never the busiest times for restaurants but my wife's birthday had come around and we fancied something different Located on Pirrama Wharf in Pyrmont this would be a stunning venue in the sunshine at either lunchtime or a summer evening. In the middle of June it benefited from living flame tubes at the front to welcome us inWe elected to invite our host to order for us and weren't disappointed. 8 hour baked eggplant dip (worth the visit alone) with warm flatbread started the flow of food accompanied by a massive and succulent meatball (one comfortably serves 3 people). Slow cooked lamb was stunning served alongside the signature pomegranate chicken. This was joined by a substantial kebab platter and a couple of attractively presented rice dishes Flavours were deep and satisfying and the service was well timed and very genuineWe had taken along a bottle of champagne and corkage came in at $15 which seemed fair enough. It was only after we had settled the bill that our helpful waitress let us know they usually only take deliveries on a Tuesday but had opened up so as not to let us down - very sweetMy sense is that they have all the basics covered and should be busier in the evening - a few very small suggestions:1. It was a little cold with all the windows open, perfect for summer but not ideal in the middle of winter2. The food flavours were great but a little more focus on the appearance might be useful- very dark meat dishes might benefit from a swirl of yoghurt on top?3. What was assembled for us was ideal - perhaps it might be packaged as a standard menu option?4. The external signage wasn't at the same high standard as the foodOverall definitely somewhere we will go back to regularly- good food and service, supporting a family business that deserves to be busier. Give it a try
We had a great evening with Mariam and her team. It really felt like we were guests invited into her home in true Persian style. The food was wonderful and we were lucky enough to have a matching wine dinner from Naked Lady wines. Recommended.
