Feedback gevenDisappointed she booked a table that was asked about a month after a month before the Father's Day booked for six people. Even called and requested and called to check my booking in the morning. Received a table for four people (squeezed for six people) on the side without the sun. Very annoying, since this was the main reason why I had booked. Deserted fifteen minutes after coffee came out. Only exciting, especially as we sit with a reservation, and people without reservations were sat in front of us.
Terrible service and extremely rude staff. This was my second time in the zebra lounge and was treated by both extremely terrible staff with an extremely terrible staff who seemed to be the manager. Never go back.
Glorious sunny Sunday, water on the white bay is sparkling, and everything is good with the world. And this place is packed. The Maitre'd has a voice for Smoothfm, and a rest picking up. That is, the service is incoherent. Grief The food is good. Not excellent, but good. My poppy crusting tuna-Tataki was very fresh, but while it was pretty, the tuna was overwhelmed by the density of the poppy seeds. The avocado / mayo / tomato maidy sauce was lovely. Grief The shrimps with rice noodles looked good, but it was Fad and everyone a bit tasteless. I hate to peel my own shrimp - the shrimp heads falsely let them believe that they get more than they are. Are you peeling the shrimp instead and throw a few on the plate. This is a lazy gastronomy. Grief The meatballs were delicious, although another piece of bread is necessary.
Went here on the weekend for the second time in a month as I thought that the issues we had the first time could not have been repeated but I was wrong Service is a big issue. We were seated and then not provided with enough menu's to go around so had to share the two we were provided with. After ordering we proceeded to wait 30 minutes and then one of the dishes arrived. 15 minutes later 2 of the other dishes arrived. After another 10 minutes we complained and were told that our food was just being plated up, but when I went to the pass there was nothing being plated up and it was only just being cooked. I told the manager that our order had clearly been forgotten but she wouldn't admit any fault on their part and continued to lie that the dish was being plated up when it clearly wasn't. No apology, we ended up leaving with two people still hungry and getting billed for the full amount. Will not be going back there, really badly managed with a bad result.
I've just read some of the reviews of this place.. and especially the most recent. .WOW! The negatives have come out of issues. What we had was service, food, service, food. I will recommend the Zebra Lounge to everyone ... It was Sunday...placed packed...there was seven of us, no booking...the waiters, thank you Edward and Samantha, seated us with alacrity, pulling tables together out of nowhere....Whilst we were being seated, Edward asked, "Coffee, Tea,..VODKA?"...Hillarious..put us at ease....our breakfast? We're from Melbourne, We are agreed..we will catch taxis to have the salmon rosti and the fritters. Sometimes, things are good, sometimes, things are bad...we saw, we came...we had the Zebra Lounge...miss you already.
