Super sulit na siya for 600 pesos per set (good for sharing) comes with Hokkaido Butao Ramen in Miso Kar soup base, dessert, salad, hot black tea, Japanese gohan and Tonkatsu. A side order of extra buttered corn sweeten the deal. Burp.. Winner. This was last night dinner at Santouko Hokkaido Ramen at Eastwood Mall, an iconic restaurant that originated from Japan. Oishi desu! RAMEN: exceptionally flavored with Ramen noodles that are quality made. Unlike in popular ramen houses, Hokkaido so far has exceeded my expectations. TONKATSU: Tender, juicy and perfectly fried. Generously served too. A sure winner! SIDE DISHES: All good but I love the buttered corn and salad. AMBIANCE and SERVICE: Very cozy and classy. The staff are attentive as well. 5 STARS Overall, I enjoyed my dinner here and will recommend this place for Ramen lovers and Japanese food addicts. Osihi desu!
The food was delicious with a big amount of servings. We went there to celebrate New years eve with the family and we all did enjoy the food.
(4.5/5 I have just one question to myself: WHY I AM NOT COMING HERE MORE OFTEN? Damn, Santouka is impressive. From the sleek interiors (the all-black interiors was genuis , to the okay staff service, down to the impressive food selections. Gosh, their ramen is so unique and smooth and big (I went for the Shio Ramen Large PHP 450+ I was enjoying it immensely. And did I say, SMOOTH? So damn smooth, it epitomized the word. I was full and satisfied. Really one of the better Ramen places for me!
Hokkaido Ramen Santouka would have to be my favorite out of all the Japanese restaurants I've tried in Manila: great staff service, clean dining area and utensils, and most of all authentic delicious food that is definitely worth the premium price. My family and I had Tori Karaage (crispy fried chicken with shredded cabbage on the side, had to order rice separately , Unagi Roll (grilled eel roll topped with salmon sashimi, more eel, and a drizzle of smoky-sweet sauce , Awase Aji Ramen (a combination of tonkotsu, soy, shio, and miso broth, and topped with charsui, marinated egg, and bamboo shoots , and the star of the show, Shio Ramen— perfectly firm ramen noodles in creamy tonkotsu broth, generously topped with seasoned bamboo shoots (such interesting texture!! and charsui. I didn't mind ordering a marinated egg add-on to complete the ramen experience.
We ate there last sunday. We ordered the kurobuta gyoza(P230), charisu roll(P210), salmon roe roll(P295) and santouka set meal A, C F. I recommend to buy the gyoza as it is very delicious and very flavorful. Their rolls is also good (hindi tinipid ang ingredients). I also recommend to order the set menu if your really hungry or a big eater as it will really fill your stomach. You could also order the set menu for sharing for small eaters. I personally order the set C which has 4 fried chicken with it. The chicken is very tender and flavorful. They chicken they serve don't have bones so it is easy to eat. I do recommend to order the spicy for the ramen. For those who is not used to the spicy food it is just average so just take your time in eating it. I have also tried from other set meal is the fried salmon I think it is a bit oily and the fish is a bit dry. I also tasted the pork cutlet, the slice is huge so set A is best for sharing, it is crunchy and the meat is tender. All in all we had a great meal and very filling. They have good decorations and accomodating staff.
