Under normal circumstances, I'd give Racks a rating of 5, however I'm only giving it a 4.5 now because their parking is somewhat limited. Other than that, food quality, service, lavatory—Racks definitely exceeds expectations.
I used to love racks so much when I was younger. Finally decided to dine here again for my brother's birthday. The onion brick! What a classic. And of course, don't forget the full slab of ribs. 'Nuff said. (Skip the prosciutto salad though, it's not worth it)
Still the same flavorful taste :) love the pork ribs, kids love the roasted chicken, beef so tender! Corn on the cob had a different twist, it tastes like a garlic bread; and coleslaw will always be a classic. Ended with blueberry and strawberry cheesecakes.. mmm... a must-try, I tell you. Food was served on time, not too much of waiting. Ambiance still the same, homey feeling is still there. Happy father's day, dad!
Had dinner with hubby and kids at Racks along Timog Avenue. It's a pretty big branch with ample parking in front. We always order ribs so this time we tried the Smoked Spring Chicken (P535). It was okay taste-wise but I find it expensive. I can already get a bigger whole chicken at so many other places for a lot less than P500+. The mayo-based sauce it's served with is cloying, I'd rather pair it with their trademark BBQ sauce. We also had Racks Classic Pork Ribs (P395 for a Quarter Rack). It comes with 2 side dishes. It's okay, I find that it's still one of the most worthwhile dishes on the menu. We tried Racks Premium Boneless Pork (P415 for a Quarter) as well. It's a single slab of meat that isn't big but hey it's all meat. It's okay too although too pricey for me. Everything at Racks is great when paired with their trademark BBQ sauce which I've always liked. Just don't make the mistake of using the spicy variant. I poured it onto my order by mistake and I think I killed my taste buds. It's way too spicy that it pretty much kills all other flavors. For dessert we had their Mississipi Mud Pie (P195). It was surprisingly good. Not very photogenic but yummy. The moist, rich chocolate cake is topped with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. It seems every time I go back to Racks the prices are higher than the last time. They fall a bit short when it comes to value for money because servings are on the small side and prices are quite high.
