Cafe Carolina & Bakery - Raleigh

I got the Country Breakfast-the bacon was good (it?s hard to screw up bacon), the eggs were bland and lukewarm. The potatoes were also bland and lukewarm-cool, but were also mushy. For $10, I expected more. The coffee was surprisingly good, as were thesweet potato ham cheese biscuits. I may go back, but only for coffee and a bagel or pastry; anything else is beyond thisrestaurant?s capability.

We have been going to Cafe Carolina since 2003, right at two decades. We started when we were working in downtown Raleigh and dined at the Cafe Carolina that was open there at the time. When we retired we continued to dine at the Village Districtlocation. We live in Smithfield and dine there a dozen plus times yearly mostly on Sunday mornings driving in from our home inSmithfield. The food is always excellent and we prefer The Charleston Smoked Turkey and tomato soup as our go to selections. Wealso find the dining area a place that invites you to sit down enjoy your meal, talk, and enjoy a refill of your beverage. Thestaff there is always friendly and willing to do whatever is needed to make our visit enjoyable.

I had a great experience with cafe carolina!! I ordered doordash, and I accidentally got the wrong order. I called cafe carolina just to let them know my order was switched with someone else's, and the owner DELIVERED ME my correct order!!! It was thesweetest thing a restaurant has ever done for me. The food is delicious, and has been the few times I?ve been there. I alsoaccidentally got an inside out peanut butter bar and its sooo delicious, I?m glad it landed in my hands. Locally owned businessand the owner goes out of his way for customer satisfaction- you dont see much like it anymore!!! :

It was ok. I got the cafe chicken salad. Was kinda expecting more of a salad and not a sandwich. I know chicken salad is it?s own thing, but when you have it listed under salad and says it rests on a bed of lettuce I think of salad
