Char-grill - Raleigh

A Raleigh area staple and institution that’s worth eating at for lunch or a late evening meal. Good Hamburger Steak Sandwiches and Bright Leaf Hot Dogs. It’s messy, but they give ample napkins. Fries were super hot and crispy. Would definitely eat it again. Take out only.

Fast, friendly, and frugal. This place is where you go to get an old fashioned, honest to goodness, freshly made burger. The fries are absolutely amazing. You are going to want to go back as soon as you can. This place filled me up, no doubt about it. And believe me, the after lunch nap is definitely real after a trip here. Orders are taken via paper slips and you wait for your name or number to be called outside while you wait. So be prepared if the weather isn't going to be comfortable.

The white female cashier with the graying brunette hair has an attitude problem. I made a simple mistake of marking the wrong burger I wanted, and when I politely told her abt the mistake she rolled her eyes and acted like I asked her to raise and kill the cow for the burger. All she had to do was inform the cooks and reprogram the order. She then scoffed when I asked for a water cup and sarcastically said “anything else you want to change.” I know we all have good and bad days, but the unprompted attitude was so uneeded. I work in the service industry too and deal with annoying people but I’m not gonna be rude to their face especially if they’re not being rude back. Not once did I give her an attitude but my sheer existence seemed to tick her off. Only at the end did I match her energy which she seemed shocked at. Treat others the way you want to be treated. The food was also just “eh” this time.

It was 3 minutes till closing time New Year’s Eve..and they gladly took my order. It was an amazing burger and the fries were just perfect! If you love old burger joints with a good seasoned grill, great product and committed workers..you will LOVE this place!

Best char grilled steak burger ever. Can't wait to go back.
