I visited this restaurant with a group, and we had to split up between two tables since there are only four seats per table. Unfortunately, my Polish sausage was not prepared well. I'm also not a fan of places that don't provide trays. We experienced a really long wait for our food as well.
I have a fondness for Chicago-style hot dogs, so I decided to visit Cloos for a taste of home. It's worth mentioning that they serve a Detroit-style Chicago dog, characterized by its natural casing that gives it that satisfying snap (as opposed to the traditional Vienna sausage found in Chicago). Regardless of the nuances, Cloos is a quintessential hot dog spot. I loved watching the cook skillfully throw the meats right onto the grill, right in front of me. I ordered both a Chicago dog and a Coney dog, and I have to say, they were both spot on. They were also well-packaged for takeout, avoiding the annoying mess of foil wrappers. The burgers on the menu looked tempting as well, so I’ll definitely be trying those on my next visit. Oh, and they serve beer too!
As relocated Michigander, I can vouch for Cloos. It's actually one of the best tasting Coney islands I've ever been to. It's amazing to get to eat such good Coney's here in NC. If you are craving an amazing, classic dog, go here. And their fries are perfect too!
Had not been here since college, aka decades ago. Very nice people. Very easy order process. Dogs have an incredible snap to them. Fries are awesome. Like the chili, slaw, mustard dog.
