Oak City Café - Raleigh

The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The owner of the restaurant is one of the kindest individuals I’ve ever encountered, and his wife makes the most incredible jelly I've ever tasted! You can even purchase a jar to take home with you.

--- This diner is a great budget-friendly spot for lunch, and it’s dog-friendly too! There are a few picnic tables out front, making it a nice place to sit outside. Just be aware that it’s easy to miss since it’s a small place next to the Day's Inn. I tried the vegetarian biryani with shrimp, while my partner ordered the fish plate. The fish was cooked well and air-fried to perfection. However, the vegetables were a bit overcooked; they tasted good, but the texture could have been better. One unique thing about the place is that the owner also makes handbags. I bought one for my little one, and I'm sure she’ll love it! --- Let me know if you’d like any changes!

Breakfast. Service was good. The food was very good, perfectly cooked, visually appealing and only the right portions size to fill you without being overcrowded. I went when they first opened and the experience was not great, but they definitely worked out the mistakes. I'll have lunch next time.

I highly recommend this restaurant! I ordered the gyro, which came with tater tots. While the tots were tasty, they're not really my thing. The gyro, on the other hand, was fantastic. They have daily specials, and since I visited on a Friday, I enjoyed $1 beers with wraps and sandwiches. I’m also sharing a photo of their Indian food specials, which I plan to try next time. The fries were delicious, too. You should definitely give this place a try! It's owned by a lovely Indian couple.
