I order Jambalaya; I got a 5 lb plate of rice with 4 shrimp; my date, order Shrimp N Grits Cajun style; WHAT; he got a 5lb plate of instant grits and 4 shrimps; our guest ordered **** cake; tasted like **** meat and Ritz crackers mashed together and fried; awful; and a Muffuletta; I know what a Muffuletta is supposed to be; I don t know what that bun was and it had pickled cauliflower, carrots, pickled corn; What? I was so furious; furious. Go there; have a good time; but don't plan on dinner.
Food is definitely better when they 1st open. No utensils are ever offered when we request a left over box. Staff is always friendly...Gator bites were delicious. Crab cakes had too many shells so I know they were fresh...sweet potato fries are thebest
Second time visiting Raleigh for work and came to Big Easy for dinner on our first night. Super glad that we did because we all enjoyed our food, tried alligator, and had fun with our host Bonnie. She was so engaging and flexible with our requests.Everything from the moment you enter and leave was so easy, we even automatically had our bills split accordingly without evenhaving to ask. Thank you!
We had a great experience here along with awesome food! The staff were kind, funny, and genuinely good people! The food was authentic Creole and Cajun style with fresh homemade taste that made it hard to stop eating. We were pleasantly surprised tohave the best alligator bites ever at this little place! The drinks were also made well, fairly strong but not too over the top.I wish I lived closer so I could make a weekly trip to revisit this little gem.
My wife and I went as a change of pace try something new. Alligator bites were good, my seafood player was good. My wife's food on the other hand was issue after issue! She got a cup of jambalaya but it was all rice she had to send it back so theycould change the scoop of rice so it included meat. Then, the bourbon brownie was a hockey puck, literally a rock, couldn't cutit with a knife or fork but could have broken a window with it! Luckily for us the waiter said he would take it off the billlike he was doing us a favor, uh yeah that's the least you could do. It was supposed to be a pleasant night out on the town butit was a comedy of errors. She grabbed something from McDonald's on the way home!
