Don't let the simple ambience put you off. Unfortunately the photo was only taken while we were eating. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner
The place is certainly characteristic, you go straight to the kitchen, look at what is available and order. The quality is as good as the average of the Cyclades islands, it's a shame to only find out the prices when you get the bill, it's better to ask when ordering. A small plate of tzatziki, a portion of imam, a portion of meatballs and a portion of chips, as well as a beer €41, the most expensive place of the 12 days in the Cyclades. For the type of seat and service one would expect a lighter bill.
I give 3.5 stars out of 5 even though of all the taverns it is certainly the best and most authentic. The family doesn 't speak English, so you have to make do with gestures. It 's definitely not the most welcoming, but that 's their way of doing things. Don 't try to contradict the chef or his son when he beckons to you, go into the kitchen and indicate with 1 or 2 etc the dishes you want. Remember to place a single order because it is not easy to order again. They prefer cash only to pay, even though the prices seem very similar to other taverns. If the prices are not displayed I imagine myself paying little. We took 1 plate with chicken, 1 spinach, 1 portion of aubergine (excellent), 1 of stuffed tomato and pepper and a small plate of tzatziki water. €40 for two
Nice food and location but you have to come early. P.S. it would be nice if they would give a receipt Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: €20–25 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We ate at the shop in mid August. Initially there is not enough staff. We were 20 minutes late to order and the food came to the table in almost an hour of waiting. The shop was full of people and there were no waiters to serve but the owner of the shop. As for the food, pretty average without anything to stand out. I can 't say it drove me crazy. But the most important thing is the financial issue and the behavior of the owner. The owner was irritated by anything we asked him and spoke sharply to almost all customers. We noticed that with the families and locals of the island he was polite, while with groups of young people he was incredibly rude. He forgot to bring us a main course and our drinks and when we reminded him he started yelling be patient one one don 't want all etc . All this while we were already waiting for our food for 1 hour . As a result, one person in the group had to fast. We were patient and didn 't want to rush things but in the 2 hours we were there the dish never came. Finally, there is also a problem in the financial part. Expensive for no reason, we paid close to 80 euros for little things. The shop doesn 't even have a menu (even a paper) with the prices and you don 't know how much your bill will be. Of course they do the classic no internet can 't accept card trick so bring cash if you end up going there. The best of all? They don 't even cut receipts. At a time when we Greeks cannot comfortably go on vacation in our own country, on the island (as I imagine in the rest) there are many who step on it to get rich. Asking everywhere for evidence will not cut it almost anywhere in all of Serifos.
