Bistro Avoca - Randwick

This restaurant is not prepared for a big party. our wait was unacceptable and eating was not worth the time or the money. from the last of our party we arrived, we did not get our escape to the main entrance and dessert to I am also incredibly disappointed about my desserts at another table at least once the size of what I received later in the night. the size of the so far spaced portions meant that I still remained hungry, not what I would expect from a meal. a free two bowl chips (between people) is not enough to make the bad experience, and while I was the righteous apologies from the front house (which seemed as frustrated as I was), I will not disturb to return here.

High end and very affordable! I went with my partner to dinner and we had a massive surprise. the prices in the menu are really affordable and eating is simply delicious. it is fine dinning at it is best, perfect balance of aromen and service. everything was perfect and the front of the house staff was very friendly.

We have lived in the area for a few years and always rely on bistro avoca to give us amazing tasty food and guaranteed value for money. however this time the food looked and tasted different. having read some review it looks like it has changed hands. what a pitt as the food was average and overly indulgent French without being high quality. I had the lamb which was tough and dry and tasteless and my partner had the beef Wellington which had a rind if fat through it and was also cooked badly. we unfortunately won't be recommending this place to friends anymore and probably won't go back.

Truely a hidden gem in Avoca Street. This was modern French food at excellent prices. I had the Confit Duck Leg which was perfectly cooked. (Cost $29.00) My wife had the Braised Leg of Lamb which she said was superb. (Cost $32.00). To accompany our dishes we added Steamed Vegetables of the Day $9 and Pomme Pont-nuef Chips $10 which I though added to the Duck beautifully. Accompanying our food was an excellent Shiraz from the Pyrenees Ranges Victoria. The waiting staff were exceptional, helpful, friendly, quick and unobtrusive. Everyone was looked after in a very prompt manner. Even the food came out promptly even though the bistro was full with everyone dinner at a similar time. Five stars all around from us.

I went on Wednesday during their Wednesday French night and I had a great night. The food is flavoring, great products and the service is amazing.I really enjoy their chicken paté as well as the crispy truffle brie for entree, then the duck leg was sublime and the pear belle helene perfect. I really recommend to pop up there and have a great date or night with your friends.
