Caffe Calce - RAVELLO

Great cafe in Ravello's main square. My husband and I visited 3-4 times during our 6 day stay in Ravello. It is a nice place to relax and people watch at all times of the day. The servers were always friendly and helpful with any questions we had.

We staggered into Caffe Calce in Ravello looking for a cool (weather wise) place to recover from the five-minutes-climbing-stairs-in-this-record-breaking-weather-could-kill-you summer of 2023. Outside seating yet a cool breeze, cold drinks, light salads. We had both the cabrese and the melon prosciutto plates. Ordered a Margherita pizza to take home for dinner later in our air conditioned rental flat. All were delicious. Lovely service. This restaurant is connected to other businesses on same block with gelato, etc. yes please.

We came here for gelato on our way back and we were very happy we made the stop. The gelato here tasted fresh. My friend got the melon gelato and she said she could tell it was made with fresh fruit and no syrups. I got the coconut gelato and that was also fresh. I would highly recommend this place as a pit stop for local gelato.

Terrible service, terrible food. Waited over an hour for a few slices of pizza. Asked waiter how much longer, and he told us two minutes. Two minites later he came back to tell us they had run out of the food we ordered... So, how could it have needes just 2 more minutes?? What he did finally bring over was cold French bread-style pizza. I had better in my dorm room. He also left off other parts of our order. Totally disorganized. Was slow to bring rounds of drinks, was slower to bring the check. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!

Gelato was good but our morning breakfast was not so good. We got a muffin that was stale and flavorless. The day before we had a nice donut. Mixed.
