Caffe Mattei - RAVENNA

A very nice hotel at the outskirts of Ravenna. Staff was very polite and efficient. The room was very clean. It did have a funny light switch layout (and it really was funny, enough to be mentioned here: there were way more switches than there were lights). The restaurant was good and the breakfast buffet offered plenty of (good) food.

We entered our suite to find a very spacious area. The bed was comfortable and they were the only pluses. We did not find the reception staff helpful. We were extremely disappointed to find there was nowhere nearby to have a meal. The dining room started service at 7.30pm. There is no coffee bar for snacks or coffee during the day. We cannot recommend this hotel as it is too far from the city centre and one needs to use taxis to get around. This is not a hotel for older people. Perhaps our standards are too high. The star system is not accurate. However judging by the reviews we read we wondered if we were in the same hotel. Sadly we will not stay here after our next cruise.

Lovely rooms and service, staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was abundant. Location is a bit tricky as it is out of town and the cabs are few and far between.

Very large hotel with acceptable services, the only but great point of view (but then solved) was that on my arrival I was given a room on the first floor inside and immediately I feel a very unpleasant smell, I try to make a reason but after 10min I do not resist and go to the reception, expose the problem asking if by chance the room for smokers, the lady responds yes, communicates that through application I expressly requested non-smoking and responds. not run from 1 day to the hotel and it is usually necessary to request a smoker room and not vice versa. and until today most of the hotels I visited have no choice if you want to smoke you take a breath of air. Anyway, I've really changed my room. I don't think it's excellent.
