You turn around the corner from the main road and you are in the rural Emilia Romagna, a world of taste, hospitality, history as well as authentic experience . The rooms are very charming and full of very personal details. Food? what can we say, tortellini home made at its best. Please do not simply order but just follow Giorgio's recommendations and your palate will enjoy Italian food difficult to find anywhere else. Thank you , Giorgio and Dominico, for a time that we will not forget. Renate and Frank
It was mid-day Sunday two weeks ago, and we traveling from Assisi to Venice by car. We had just traversed the Apennines having passed many trucks. We detoured away from the A4 highway because of traffic jams, and located this place west of Ravenna on a country road using Google Maps on a phone. It 's a farmhouse with a front room crowded with tables. Very rustic, no a/c, but the real deal. Italian families were there with babies in high chairs. Couples were out for a nice lunch together. And there we were, the only English-speakers in the place. We started with crostini--absolutely delicious bread coated with garlic or olives or tomato sauce. Wonderful. So crunchy and rich. Then we each opted for a different pasta for our primo course. For us it was our final course, though the Italians split a pasta order and went on with more, meat courses and dessert. The pasta arrived in personal, sizzling hot frying pans. These went on the table, and you could keep on serving yourself. The most creamy sauce filled these raviolis. it was sublime. A genius was cooking this up in the country kitchen. We tried a Tortellacci verdi with ricotta, grana, porcini and Cappelletti al ragu. Wonderful food. We stuffed ourselves and had to stop. That night in Venice, we were too full for supper.
