Olivia's Produce is the best in Berks, hands down! Rijuice, also can't be beat, the best! And to top off, can't get better bread, croissants or sweet treats than at Kate's Bread Basket! All The Best of the Best!!

4.5 stars. Hamid Chaudhry deserves a lot of credit for turning the Shillington Farmers Market around since he acquired it in late 2017. In the middle of 2017, the Shillington Farmer's Market was 2/3 empty and seemed very likely it was going to shutter as the few remaining vendors were considering other options. Since then, the market has greatly expanded not only the number of vendors it has but the variety as well. There are a few long time vendors which are there from the old Shillington Farmer's Market (Museum Road and Lancaster Ave. including Salino's, Balthaser's Meat, reopened Betty's Classic Deli Salads, and a bunch of new ones. It has almost all of the basics covered if you need seafood, meat, produce, etc. There are also a few takeout food options (subs, Thai, Latin soul, BBQ, sushi and Korean along with the Shillington Market Cafe which offers generous portions, modest prices, and decent, basic food. If you have food allergies (Gluten or are a vegetarian/vegan, it is lacking in options but you can say the same of any farmer's market in Berks County including Wyomissing and the Fairgrounds Farmers Market on the 5th Street Highway. Ditto if you are looking for a lot of fresh herbs/seasoning as well as specialty food items. I still prefer the Fairgrounds Farmers Market but this is a convenient and easy location to get to from my parent's houses that offers reasonable prices and a wide array of vendors to meet most customer's needs. It could use a top scale bakery with a wider array of fresh bread products as well as a killer taco place. It still amazes me that the Reading area still doesn't have a really great and authentic taco place given the Latino population including Mexican residents in the area. Tip Make sure you bring cash too because there are at least several vendors who only accept cash.

So glad to have stumbled upon this place while hubby was getting supplies at the Giant next door. The adjacent strip mall also features a Goodwill in addition to a few other businesses. I 'm so glad we didn 't get lunch beforehand because this place is amazing! Not only can you get fresh local produce, eggs, nuts, deli, and baked goods, but they offer a nice assortment of made to order food. Whether you 're in the mood for a sub (a large is only $5.50 made fresh to order right inside the door at the deli stand/CASH ONLY or Korean (had some of the BEST glass noodles and Korean beef ever! or Puerto Rican they got you covered. I was in awe walking around taking in all the smells before I committed to Korean. Since each stand is manned by a different vendor payment terms vary. While some accepted credit, others only accepted cash so do bring some along. Aside from the independent vendors there was an Auntie Anne 's in the back as well as a sit down greasy spoon type diner. Seating was limited to restaurant but one of the shops did have a table or two. Plan on getting take out vs dining in. Everything was clean and well maintained and indoors. We camp often in the area (about 10 miles away so the market will surely become a regular stop for us.

Thankful that this is an indoor farmers market so I can shop easily with my two littles. Nice quaint market with many options for food, drinks sweet treats. I tried a few vendors so I could get an idea of what they had to offer: Kate's Bread Basket I tried some fresh items that looked delicious. 1 Jewish baked roll, 1 onion roll, 1 strawberry filled donut, 1 peach muffin 1 blueberry muffin. All for $6.05, which isn't bad for all of those. Brocmar Smokehouse I love smoked turkey so I got a 1/2lb of their smoked turkey along with some of their Honey Bee sauce. $6.89 for 1/2lb isn't too bad. Flavor of the turkey isn't as smoked as I like it but it does taste really fresh and organic. Auntie Anne's I know you can find this anywhere but my son wanted a pretzel lol. He devoured the plain pretzel it in 2.5 seconds! $2.79 for 1. Olivia Fruit Produce the only produce place in the market but a huge variety of fruit and vegetables. They even offer grapefruit and orange juice at $5.99 for a 16 oz container. That wasn't worth it to me when I can go to Redner's and get a larger container for $9. I ended up getting some veggies to roast (potatoes, zucchini squash, summer squash, red pepper, yellow pepper, asparagus , some cherry tomatoes to snack on (these were super sweet! some raspberries my son wanted. Everything for $18.50. Wasn't too happy about the cost since I didn't get a lot but I was happy it was fresh. Mi Casa Su Casa their food looked soooo good! I wanted to try everything, but I ended up getting 1 veggie empanada 1 chicken empanada. 2 for $5. The chicken empanada was really good, chicken a little dry but crunchy and good flavor. Will go back to try more menu items. I wanted to try the Thai place but I didn't know that they only accept cash. They do have an ATM on site but I was not about to get charged a fee for some food. Overall good experience. Be prepared to spend about $50 if you want a good amount of stuff. Also, come on Thursdays as they typically don't restock and once stuff is gone, it's gone. And from one of the vendors the stuff usually goes quickly.
