The Green Tomato - Reading

I have lived nearby for years and neglected to try this place, thought it was too heavy or unhealthy. I was wrong! This place has very tasty home kitchen, but without overweight of salt or fat. We ate there three times a week after we tried! Portions are also very generous, I have two fixed meals from each dinner special. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for comfort food without the guilt!

We were introduced to the Green Tomato by someone who visits our office. Now, whenever we have a special in-office celebration, The Green Tomato is our 'go to place '. The food is excellent. Great menu. We love Pot Roast and Roasted potatoes. Chicken Piccata, and all the sides. The staff is great to work with and delivery is always on time. And...reasonably priced.

If your looking for takeout that's not pizza, or Chinese this is your place! Classic homemade eats at a great value. The stuffed turkey meal is a standout and the pasta dishes are solid. I highly recommend this spot.

Conveniently located outside the train station. It all tastes like home cooking. And it is consistently good. The portions are huge...the prices are reasonable The staff us very friendly and polite. It 's our go to place when it 's too hot to cook and you don 't want that feeling you get after junk food. Two thumbs up
