The Poachers - Reading

Came here on a Wednesday lunchtime. It was very quiet, I think we were the only ones in here. The food was excellent, typical pub staples plus a small range of pizza. The main course are not cheap but the portions were generous. I enjoyed my meal here.

Beautiful pub and beautiful food; nearby road is busy, some people don't like the sound of cars when outside.

We only popped in for a coffee on Sunday lunch time and was shocked to see only 1 person in the pub. Its lovely inside with an open wood burner and a very nice local chap feeding the fire. Sadly no real ales, just don't understand why it was so quiet? I heard that the hotel next door is bring used to house recent arrivals, but didn't see any issues and they are not allowed in the pub.
