Hosteria Al Colle - RECOARO TERME

I visited this little restaurante a few times, during the 9 days I spent in Recoaro Terme, in northern Italy. All I can say is wow! Every dish I tried was indescribably delicious... from appetizers to desserts... Mattea the proprietor excels in preparation and presentation... as well as friendliness. The homemade sopressa is to die for, as is the bruscetta and the lightly fried polenta presented as little golden hearts on your plate. And the gelato is amazing. (Mattea also operates a gelateria in nearby Valdagno). In addition to the amazing food and lovely restaurant, the view is awe inspiiring... looking out over the Piccole Dolomiti the little Dolomites sprinkled with little clusters of ancient stone homes. I would not have known about this little Hostaria if it were not for a friend/relative who lives in Recoaro Terme. If you are traveling in the Veneto region, I would definitely recommend visiting both the town, and the Hostaria al Colle da Mattea. Definitely worth the trip!

We stopped here to take in the view and a quick bite. Lovely service and tasty bruschetta made with local products. We also had their famous ice cream, evidently it won 3rd best in Italy, it certainly tasted fantastic. Unfortunately we ate it all before I could talk a photograph

Fantastic place with great view. Authentic Italian bruschetta or you can have a typical veneto's plate. Must have an ice cream as the owner is the 4th best maker in Italy!!!

We stayed in this tavern at lunch and we ate with a nice view around. we ate the bruschettes of the day, and tasted also the sweets of the house, all very good. the courteous and kind staff. really recommended!

Located in a beautiful tranquil setting. this is the place to go for bruscetta. they also have a great range of gelato. a must if you are in the area.
