We have been to Amphora a few times and are never disappointed! The portions are large so make sure you are hungry. Your choice of salad is served with the main course unless you request to have it first ( most Europeans eat salad with their main course) The roast lamb is amazing! Keep up the good work Nick Sakkalis (founder of It's All Greek To Me), we are glad to have you back!
On Sunday, July 28, my spouse and I went for the first time to Amphora, a relatively new Greek restaurant in Red Deer. Our waitress was obviously new to her job, so we won’t comment on the service ..... she tried very hard and everybody has to start for the first time at whatever they do. As for the decor at Amphora, it’s a very attractive room (the old "Dino's" for those who know it), but my taste buds cannot appreciate decor. We began our meal with a dill salad, more accurately it showed up at the same time with what we chose for our main course. It was basically a very tired garden salad and the only evidence of dill was by looking for it, there certainly wasn’t enough of it to taste. We chose the appetizer platter as our main ..... good food, lots of it and very well presented on the platter. They advertise "the best lamb in Red Deer". However, neither the lamb, keftedes, dolmades or anything else we ordered measured up to what we always get at our favourite Greek restaurant on the hill, which we will continue to patronize.
Went to The Eatery to celebrate a friend's birthday.
A newer restaurant, but an experienced owner. Good atmosphere and the main dish was very tasty, the sides lacked in the aroma department. The service was not the best and it took some time to get out for our meal.
