The Long Table - RED HILL SOUTH

A beautiful country set in Mornington serves delicious food. The experience was a bit disappointing in which the server gave us the wrong entree. Instead of croquette we got the tensioner Crab Veggie Roll. The server confirmed her handwriting, was illegible, which led to the miscommunication with the kitchen. Why do we pay for your mistake? She did not ask us if we want the court to replace, but has helped us to "order new" and billed croquettes. I was satisfied with the food, so there has nothing permanently to pay for it. For a mistake that has been manufactured by the server, it would be nice to check before before going on, and "new order".

I booked a family lunch for long weekend recently. There were some so-so reviews sprinkled in but I thought I would give this establishment a chance.The wait staff were rude, and un-friendly from the start. One of the ladies who was servicing our table spoke quite rudely to my mother who was un-aware her chair was in the way. Our table was in a corner so it was  bit crammed and the backs of chairs were close to the table next to us. The staff also did not take any initiative to help my sister with her pram to get up the stairs or even hold the door for her as we were leaving with our hands full. Simple courtesy was not even exhibited.I was quite embarrassed and felt mad that I had brought my parents here to be treated so rudely when we were trying to simply have a nice meal together. Food was ok, expensive but the service was so below what you would expect from such an establishment it really ruined our lunch family time.This happened about two weeks ago, but I was so disappointed with this experience I felt the need to leave a review. I only hope other diners will not have such a negative experience too.

Very impressive for a special night. Grief The food is prepared with care and with absolute quality ingredients. In my case, I had a Waghu Rib Eye (rare) that would rate for me in the top 5 steaks I ever had. Grief Grief Although the choice of the network is relatively small, what you do is to perfection, and it should be there for most guests. Grief Grief We were there on a Saturday night there, so the place was packed, and I think an additional waiting hand would have been good to clear the tables, but this was a relatively small nigel.

This is an excellent restaurant in Country Victoria. We have come here a few times and we always enjoy it. I can not say that it is cheap, but I think it's a good value for money. The quality of food is always high, with interesting aromas, which do not cross the fine line in "strange and careful territory" as some places with creative menus. In our youngest visit a few nights ago we had the shrimps with burned lime, ocean trout with horseradish and hazelnut foam and one side of roasted potatoes. Everything was delicious, but the trout was a special standout. The service was friendly, but professionally. I am looking forward to our next trip to the peninsula, so we have another apology to eat there.
