Malibu Fish Grill - Redondo Beach

I walk in 6pm for dinner, place is empty and chairs are on top of about half the tables. When you drive by, you see chairs on tables and think they are permanently closed. Same when you walk up, you ask yourself 'are they open? ' Not a welcoming experience, unfriendly girl took my order after pulling out here earpods. I interrupted her music or possibly a phone call. No music playing in the restaurant. Photo was of a beautiful Salmon filet with a Broccoli assortment of veggies and fries for 20 bucks. I say I 'll have that, well done. I get No Veggies, the Salmon is a square, not a filet like the Photo. The sauce is not evenly distributed and cooked into the square piece of Salmon. I thought I was getting the 'picture ', I 'm told the Veggies would be another $5 so I skip them. There is no hello or welcome, girl is argumentative and has no personality or people skills.

Food was ok....burger loaded up with all the trimmings was good but nothing to write home about ...the feta cheese fries were nicely seasoned sprinkled generously with feta cheese...my favorite...the fish taco was fresh with a crispy crunch in every bite ...great texture ..topped with a nice slaw...the poke bowl was swerved with chips ..high quality ahi tuna for the win...great location with back parking for easy access.

With a very very heavy heart I have give Malibu Eatery 2 stars I've been dining here on and off for the past 10 years popping by whenever I had a seafood craving. But in the past couple of years quality has really gone down hill. From the fish tasting frozen, to getting full on food poisoning I've come to the point where I no longer suggest this location to friends.

We frequent this eatery every couple of weeks when we don 't feel like cooking and we want to eat healthy. The food is extremely fresh and tasty. My two favorites are the grilled Chicken tacos and the Keto bowl with grilled chicken. The tacos are stuffed full of hot off the grill chicken! The Keto Bowl with cabbage, avocado, chicken (and many other fresh yummy items) comes with an extremely tasty Miso dressing and is absolutely delicious. It 's also great with salmon. The restaurant is quite minimalistic in decor, and a little chilly inside, but the food is great. My husband loves the guacamole and if you arrive before 6:00 you can get it for half off. There 's always a friendly person to take your order!

Weird portion sizes and weird prices. I got a salmon entree and a fountain drink. $30! When they brought out the food I discovered why this was a meal portioned for two people and it was priced accordingly. I'm a big guy and I can't eat all of this. I would've been much happier if they halved the amount of food and charged me $12 15 for it instead. Place was a total ghost town too.
