Been looking for a local place that has good BBQ for years and now we've found it. Jack's Fire is hands down the best we've had in the SF Bay Area. We got Jack's Family Meal #2 with brisket. We will be going back often. Can't wait to work our way through the rest of the menu. Now we don't need to fly to TX for good BBQ. Yee-haa!
I'm so sad to hear this place has closed and I wish I had reviewed it earlier. They have the best Central Texas-style BBQ I've had in the Bay Area. Originally from Texas, I was so happy to find this place. The brisket was moist with a nice bark and the sides were solid. The pork ribs and turkey were very good and I regret not being able to try the beef ribs as they were sold out. Aside from the food, though, the people were wonderful and friendly. They always remembered me so to them I say, Go Yakult Swallows!
We got a family meal from this lovely place today and it was delicious. My favorites were pulled pork and Maca-n-cheese. We really enjoyed the meal and will definitely come back.
Beef ribs here are ridiculously good. Highly recommend! Pair them with a side of mac and cheese and you'll be in food heaven!
We were getting tired of the same 3 options for Friday night dinner and wanted to try something new. I had bookmarked Jack’s right after they opened, but never made it until now. Boy do I regret waiting this long. This could’ve made covid lockdowns better, but better late than never. We got a family meal: St. Louis ribs, brisket, Mac and cheese, and coleslaw. The ribs were so so good. They were tender and flavorful and do not need to be sauced. Brisket was great, especially with the sauce. I also really enjoyed the apple jicama coleslaw. Washed it all down with an IPA and that was what I’d call a successful Friday dinner.Jack was incredibly friendly and helpful. All covid safety protocols were followed: masks, gloves, etc. They have two tables outside if you wanted to eat there instead of taking it home.Portions were generous, food was tasty, service was friendly. Basically everything that you want out of a neighborhood staple.
