In today's time of long Corona Lock Downs you want to get something special to eat, something you don't want to prepare yourself at home; and since cozy food on foot is not possible, the choice is more and more frequent to eat – and here more on something unusual, special – even if it could be a bit more expensive. So our choice also fell on a strudel from the Strudelei. But the first attempt failed. There we wanted a strudel for Christmas and I called there shortly before ordering the next day or next day for pickup. But the friendly but negative answer was that I was too late; their capacities would be exhausted until the new year. For Christmas and the holidays after that, until Holy Three Kings is their high season in which they baked Strudel mainly for shipping to all Germany and above. Then this “project” came back with us in oblivion; also because we have assumed that closure would soon be over and food will go more joy than food. When it was seen that the Lock Down lasted longer, we remembered the project – and this time it worked. First of all, we looked at the web pages of the strudel, which is all there; for on the one hand we no longer knew exactly what we had taken for Christmas, and also for Christmas one has another, especially Christmas taste. Although the hearty strudels were very interesting for us, we chose the most classic type “Kirsch Mandel” for 23 euros, ordered by phone, picked him up at the agreed time and paid cash. The strudel is quite long, although a little thinner than expected; overall the size was already as we imagined. Unfortunately, I failed because the appetite was too large to measure the length and width and unfortunately cannot provide any specific information. We baked briefly and then enjoyed the strudel cold out of transport; he tasted us excellent, not too sweet and intense after cherry and almond. That was a very tasty but not a cheap pleasure. Then there were a few words to send them strudel. This is probably also a large part of its turnover. Here in the location information at golocal, two terms are already given for the sectors levies and more does not go; otherwise I would have added "sales" because this is certainly justified here. However, I find that the information on their websites is confusing at a certain time. On the other hand, I also read that you can freeze your strudel and then bake. The Strudelei sends with DHL, the market leader and in my opinion also reliably among the parcel services, but not the best way to see the shipping costs of the Strudelei, which are easily recognizable on their website.
Immer super lecker!
