This small family owner also has rooms to sleep. It is rooted in the mountains and has a satisfying view of the raised landscape. Quality of food is perfect and some dishes are specially made from local ingredients. definitely worth a visit.
The place itself designed by Adolf Loos is amazing to look at (inside and out) as well as overlooking the impressive valleys and gorges of the beautiful surrounding countryside. The food is traditional and very good, the open Austrian wines are excellent and...the service is both friendly and efficient. I was not overly imaginative on that particular occasion: matjesherring tartare for starters, schnitzel with potato salad as a main course and mohn palatschinken for desert.. That said, it was a most tasty and enjoyable lunch and I shall certainly return when again in that neighbourhood.
Built by famous Austrian architect Adolf Loos in 1928, Looshaus is of historic interest and offers stunning views of the mountains around by tis huge panorama window. Very good Austrian food, very friendly and helpful service, top wines. Can be highly recommended.
5 km on the hill of Payerbach. Good food, fantastic panorama. The kitchen closes at 9:00.
