There was a choice of 1 one! quark cake, 1 one! apple pie and 2 two! fruit cakes in which everything that can be baked into fruit was used. Incidentally, the package only included coffee or tea, but not, for example, a cappuccino : The service was very manageable. But it only got really bad after dinner. The waiting time between cake and dinner was about 2 hours and could be shortened by the listless waiter with a Kölsch beer. From 6:00 p.m. only another group was allowed to go to the buffet. They didn't have more to eat and they didn't have a better selection either, but it was probably still warm then. When my group got to the buffet around 7:00 p.m., they had the following offer: 1. As a starter, a carelessly prepared bowl of lettuce, a few pieces of tomato with diced sheep's cheese and a small bowl of corn, a platter of pieces of melon and a little bland tasting ham. Served with a baked baguette and some herb butter leftovers. 2. Now followed the main course, which extended over 5 warming chafis. The first chafi contained a little lukewarm pork fillet in a watery creamy mushroom sauce with canned? mushrooms. 3. The second chafi housed pieces of fish in an undefinable sauce. I can't say much about this because I haven't eaten it. When the chef was asked which types of fish could be found here, he took the label on the buffet and read out that noble fish had been overcooked there. Whatever game fish is, neither I nor apparently the chef knew. 4. In chafi 3 vegan stuffed, overcooked peppers with lots of tomato sauce 5. As a filling side dish, gnocchi was found in Chafi 4, of all things. The cook must have thought, great, they consist of a mixture of potatoes and corn flour similar to pasta dough everything is in there at once : Maybe a few fried potatoes, rice or tagliatelle would have been nice. 6. The ingredients mentioned were supplemented by the market vegetables advertised on the signage in Chafi 5. Maybe I was just unlucky, but when it was my turn, there were only peas, carrots and the remains of a broccoli floret. The dessert didn't really save the buffet. It consisted of a quark curd or alternatively a finger food jar with chia seed pudding that looked like frog spawn and, according to one participant, tasted like it. Attempts to order something to drink in between times mostly failed due to the impressive reluctance of the staff. When the payment process went to the counter at around 11:00 p.m., my surprise was perfect. Demanding €28 for the selection of dishes mentioned is a steep price and not justified, despite the greatest understanding of the corona related price increases in gastronomy. All of these experiences will not lead to eating here again
Lunch unfortunately too much from the pack, such as carrots from the glass
Here you can not only cook very tasty but also go to dinner very great
Never again, staff at the bar unfriendly, the pool an assault on health, a single catastrophe I have to give here unfortunately a star so that I can send this here
We visited the Am Unkelstein restaurant as part of a 3 course menu that was included in our booking at the associated Hotel Haus Oberwinter. The starter and dessert were pre-set and the main food was the classic choice between meat, fish and vegetarian. I would like to mention here with praise that I received a vegetarian alternative to the appetizer tomato soup instead of beef and vegetarian broth with crisp. Overall, the offer was just too old for me. All classic German home cooking, which is sure to satisfy a large number of customers. The vegetarian main course was quite clichés a large salad plate and the fleshy version of my accompaniment pork medallions with vegetables and potato gratin did not give rise to enthusiasm: The meat was very strong, the vegetables TK goods and the potato gratin very powerful. In addition, everything drank in three different sauces. Only dessert a caramel pudding was better than expected. Overall, the offer just didn't go with time and there's hardly anything done for itself! The service was courteous and nice and the store was very nice from the facility. There will only have to pay the drinks, I can't say anything at the price of performance ratio. However, given the rather under-average quality, I cannot really recommend it.
