Feedback gevenWe visited the Schützenhaus in the early evening and sat in the fully equipped winter garden at a round 8 person table. Upon arrival we were kindly received and led to the table. We could order an aperitif, the further service over the evening was attentive and friendly. Since the restaurant was well visited, there were smaller waiting times, which was not really negative. The food For the first hunger we cried a small wooden drawer with crispy white bread and a fresh herbs cucumber. Shortly afterwards a great greeting from the kitchen followed: a glass of potato puree and acidic roasts, which was wonderfully sour and tender. As an appetizer we ordered the piquant pumpkin soup with core oil and parma ham strips. Very nice served in modern asymmetric dishes and well lubricated. Parma ham could also be dispensed with because it brings a lot of salt and transfers the pumpkin flavor. (as an appetizer version for 6€ Our main courses: sour roasts from the oxen bake in almond sauce, spids, sweet potatoes and plum (18.50€ two slices of oxenbacke with raisins that could replace the plume? on a swinging strip of sweet potato puree and cute cakes that still had a beautiful color and bite. All dressed on a modern, almost black plate where the orange sweet potato and the green cabbage looked great. The sauce a dream, though I wouldn't call it almond sauce. However, there were some almond leaves: Unfortunately, the meat was not as good as in the kitchen, but had to be cut. Nothing else to complain! Gänsebrust with spicy cabbage, carcasss, mushrooms and sauce (from the Gänse special map approx. We did not notice exactly 25€ A generous piece of breast with golden brown, crispy skin. Delicious potato lobes with soleb butter and very well seasoned cubed mushrooms came with the well-known creamy cabbage from the acid roast, this time on a modernly shaped white plate. A beautiful, harmonious autumn meal! Each dish, by the way, had a tasty cherry tomatin as a special color pencil: The portion size was just right for the normal feeder. Theoretically, a dessert would have found room after a waiting period. The open merlot from Italy was drunk in a 0.5l carafe. Absolutely ok and with 13.50€ almost cheap. If there was the possibility, we would have liked to give 4.5 stars here! By the way, there was the current menu on the Internet. The Gänse special card, but not the wine card we did not see in the restaurant, but also did not ask. Ambience The Schützenhaus is an old restaurant at Kirmesplatz in Remscheid. Parking is therefore available largely directly in front of the entrance. The house has been very appealingly modernized in recent years and offers a modern yet cosy ambience. We sat in the conservatory, which had a somewhat unfavourable acoustic due to the many glass surfaces. The large round table for us 8 people was unfortunately to speak only with its direct table neighbours because of the noise level. Maybe there are some substances here (prevents the solution. Tablecloths were not available on our table. We like the loving little things: For example, the espresso is served with three dishes on a wooden board: white and brown sugar and 2 cookies. Cleanliness Only Manko for a little footache Ladies: the toilet is on the 1 floor. But there is nothing to complain about cleanliness and has noticed nothing negative.
