His outstanding service truly made our evening special. The duck I ordered was juicy and delicious. While I haven't tried anything else on the menu, my dish was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant. Initially, I hesitated to visit because of some other reviews, but I’m so glad we did—it was wonderful!
On one visit, we ordered eggplant with chicken. The eggplant was warm, the chicken straight from the fridge, and the onions lukewarm, resulting in each ingredient being served at a different temperature. They clearly don’t sauté them together. We also ordered a whole fish for $40, which was just boiled in what appeared to be leftover, watered-down broth from another customer, as it was filled with tiny bones. It seemed obvious that the gravy had been salvaged from a prior dish. The whole fish was untouched before being served. The Mongolian beef was similarly disappointing—just pieces of beef mixed in a bowl with some Chinese sauce, and again, the temperatures of the beef, onions, and sauce varied from warm to room temperature. It’s perplexing how they can charge such high prices, with each dish being at least $30. The spring rolls were frozen and barely had anything inside the wrappers; they were so small that they resembled something from a freezer box. Even spring rolls from Costco would have been an improvement. After three tries, we have decided never to return. The cooking here feels fake; it seems everything is pre-cooked and pre-chopped ahead of time, just assembled in a bowl with a canned sauce that isn’t even warmed up. The Peppermill should be embarrassed to have this restaurant associated with their name. Panda Express offers better food because at least they cook their ingredients together. Overall, we spent $180 for two people without any drinks, and it was not worth it at all.
It literally started when we walked in we stood there and waited and waited and waited and then we waited some more before anybody noticed we were there. We got seated and then we waited and we waited and we waited and then we waited some more. Our waitress was very sarcastic and had a short fuse rolled her eyes kind of and made ugh sound almost every tome we asked her a question. We were starving by the time our food came. The place was absolutely not even close to being busy, they had plenty of staff... they'd literally hide in the back. We were disappointed. Now we are at Oceano and ITS THE SAME ****!We split shrimp fried rice and got some wontons and quite literally with $70
I liked the seafood chowfun and chicken fried rice. Appetizers were really disappointing, Cheese Ragoon was VERY small for a table share and way overpriced. Avoid the $20 apps and soup, not worth it. Dinner portions were good size, 3 of us could have shared 2.Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.
I wish I had taken more pics of the interior decor but I was so busy taking it in that I forgot. This place is beautifully decorated. Lots of red and gold. It felt very upscale. The service was excellent which made sense for such a nice restaurant. If you’re looking for a super classy Asian restaurant, this is it. Great for a group or date night. The food was epic and they had vegan options. The entire group loved what they ordered and the vibe of this place.
