Northside Grill - Rensselaer

We went for lunch after my mother-in-laws funeral. The agreement was $20.00 a plate. We had 52 people and the charge after taxes and grutitity was $1800.00. This was way more than the agreement. Please look at the bill before you pay there.

So the original plan was to show up, me and 3 others but one of them was gonna golf with me. So the other 2 was just gonna ride along (because they don 't know how to golf and wasn 't gonna pay the $37 dollars to play) so we walk in and the lady behind the desk (don 't know her name but she will be known as Karen). My buddy tried calling the night before to set a tee time and nobody answered, it was within the time in which someone should have answered. So we just decided to show anyways. We walk in and Karen was yelling at us to tell her a name or a tee time, we said we tried calling but nobody would answer. She said you can 't golf without a tee time, and we said we tried calling. So she said okay you can play now since the original people at 10 never showed. So we paid and we asked for separate carts. She asked why and said that we had two buddies that were gonna tag along. She proceeded to say that they couldn 't ride along without paying $37 each just so they could ride along. So she grabbed the key from my hand aggressively bcuz she had already given us 2 keys for two separate golf carts. I asked why and they said that they couldn 't afford to allow 2 carts bcuz they were short on carts but yet the course was virtually empty and there was plenty of carts. She also told us that we were not allowed to have our own drinks and had to purchase anything that we wanted from their bar or refreshments. So not only they ripped us out of playing golf on a semi-decent course but they also wanted us to pay $37 dollars for people to ride along and whatever else it was for drinks. So we left the clubhouse and the Karen then proceeded to chase us down outside the building to double check that our two friends couldn 't and wasn 't going along (when we only had 1 key for a cart). So our friends left and Karen was also staring at us through the window as we got our clubs on the cart and while we were teeing off of the first hole. Overall a terrible experience and Karen should be fired for the terrible service and the rudeness.

Our meal was perfect! We both had steaks that were large size and tasty as can be. The staff was friendly and helpful in every way. I highly recommend it to everyone! You will not be disappointed.....

Excellent! Nice atmosphere cosmo was perfect. I don’t usually order steak out BUT the filet was wonderful and perfectly prepared. Very nice red wine completed the delicious dinner. Definitely recommend!
